Singapore Cricket Club Whisky Forum: Inaugural Session with Shizuoka Japanese Single Malt

For whisky fans, enthusiasts, drinkers, and those curious about the mysterious‘uisge beatha’ – the water of life - and exploring whisky cultures across the globe.

Dr. Chen Lim has a keen interest in the gastronomic history of libating beverages. He has embarked on numerous pilgrimages to Scotland, Japan, Australia, Korea, China and elsewhere in the world where grains are distilled into its liquid form.

This forum will introduce the Japanese single malt whisky Shizuoka by Gaiaflow from Shizuoka Prefecture: a small craft distillery that has developed unique methods of whisky production, including possibly the world’s only direct wood-fired pot still, and employing Japanese barley for its mash, resulting in intriguing flavor profiles making their whisky releases highly sought after by a discerning cult following.
