Collection: Blackadder: Snake Series

The Snake series are fun & unique concept bottling. It can be a single whisky cask turned into a Solera system, or blending different distillery casks together and maturing it in interesting casks! The list goes on...

The Black Snake Series: A sherry butt cask, which is called a VAT, starts out filled with three bourbon hogsheads of the same single malt whisky. After several months of maturation and careful tasting, around two thirds of the VAT is bottled. This bottling is called VAT “X” First Venom. Thereafter, more bourbon whisky from the same distillery is transferred into the VAT and matured for a period of time before repeating the process of bottling two thirds of the VAT. The second bottling from the VAT is called, VAT “X” Second Venom.

The process will then be repeated for the "Third Venom" and so on. As all Venoms are bottled after careful tasting and quality control, the time between each Venom will vary. Nothing is fixed. Also, each original sherry cask butt will be replaced with a new sherry cask butt when the time is right.

The Chimera: A yearly release, Chimera is an exciting blended malt whisky – but not just any blend of single malts. It is blended and vatted in specially selected casks with no two editions of Chimera ever being the same! A mix of three distinctly different Single Malt Whiskies and matured in a mix of ex-Sherry and Wine casks.

Chimera will always be different, from the sources of the constituent whiskies to the fingerprints left by the individual casks. Even as you enjoy your first dram you will notice changing sensations from sip to sip. Chimera - taste and enjoy the difference!

Puff Adder: A perfectly balanced blended malt whisky. We wanted to create a whisky that was typically Blackadder, i.e. no chill, or otherwise heavy filtration and, no added caramel to adulterate the spirit. As its name implies Puff Adder greets you with a puff of smoke on the nose, following on the palate with a creamy balance of sweetness and gentle peat.
